Stations

Station No. 1

Address: 512 W. Ninth St.

Fire Station 1 was built and opened in 1973. This station protects the downtown area of Owensboro in their still run. Engine 1, Ladder 1, Rescue 1 and Boat 31. The Assistant Chief are housed at this station along with a reserve engine, hazmat response trailer, and the technical rescue trailer. This firehouse also is the location of the fire chief’s office, fire inspection/prevention bureau and training bureau.

Station No. 2

Address: 1900 E. Parrish Ave.

Fire Station 2 was built and opened in 1998. Engine 2 is housed at this station and protects the ever growing east side of Owensboro along the Highway 54 corridor in their still run including the Heartlands, Brookhill subdivisions and surrounding area. A reserve ladder truck is also housed at this firehouse.

Station No. 3

Address: 2633 Cravens Ave.

Fire Station 3 was built and opened in 1973. Engine 3 is housed at this station and protects the northwest
side of Owensboro in their still run. A reserve engine is also housed at this firehouse.

Station No. 4

Address: 25th and Breckenridge St.

Fire Station 4 was built and opened in 1973 but remodeled after the 2000 tornado with the expansion of the engine bay area. Engine 4 is housed at this station and protects the southeast side of Owensboro along Old Hartford and New Hartford roads in their still run. A reserve engine is also housed at this firehouse.

Station No. 5

Address: 3845 South Griffith Ave.

Fire Station 5 was relocated from Scherm Rd. and a new station was built in 2002. This station protects the growing south side of Owensboro along Frederica St. and surrounding communities. Engine 5, Ladder 5, Rescue 5, Boat 35 are housed at this firehouse. There is also a piece of the WTC and a monument in front of the station, dedicated to those who were lost and made the ultimate sacrifice on the 11th of September 2001.
